Myth: Long-term use of the birth control pill compromises fertility and can be risky for the baby.
Reality: It’s perfectly safe to get pregnant the month that you off the pill, and birth control pills neither accelerate nor slow down the biological clock.
Myth: Standing on your head or thrusting up your hips for half an hour after sex will help you get pregnant.
Reality:
If you’re having sex at your fertile time of the month, the sperm will arrive at their destination no matter your position.
Myth:
Boxer shorts are better for a man’s sperm count than briefs.
Reality:
Whether a man wears boxers or briefs, his scrotal temperature will average 94° to 95°F, the ideal temperature for healthy sperm production. Still, men seeking to preserve their fertility should limit time spent in saunas and hot tubs.
