    Induction

Well ladies, I thought that this might happen all along, since my due date was moved up in the beginning to September 2. It looks like I am going to be having my baby at the end of August. I am 35 weeks and had an appointment today where we discussed our birth plan and there policies on induction. I was induced with my first 2, 5 days early with my first and 8 days with the second. The Dr. confirmed today that they will not let me go past my due date, but that she wants to wait until week 39. For those of you who don't know, I have gestational diabetes, had it with the other pregnancies as well. I am hoping to go naturally before then, I would love to go around the 20th at 38 weeks. That's still considered full term. I have been having contractions, which I lovingly dub warm-ups for about a month and a half. Well, it seems that these ones in the past couple of weeks have made some progress because I am 1 cm dilated. I forgot to ask about effacement, but you usually don't get one without the other! Just wanted to share and find out how everyone else is doing. How are you all progressing? Are you contracting? How goes it?

Well other than being hot and miserable I am doing good! Its 115 degrees here and our cooler broke! UUGGHH! I had dr appt today and we talked about induction because I did it with my other 2, daughter was induced 2 wks early and son was induced 1 week early. I am just scared this baby is going to be gigantic because I have big babies, so my md told me he will check the size in 2 wks and we3 can set a date for induction then. So Hopefully I only have 4-5 weeks left!

    Re: Induction

I'm 35 weeks today. My due date is September 6th. So far I just have Braxton Hicks contractions every once in a while but that's it. My doctor hasn't checked my cervix yet. Since I had a surgery on it last November they are telling me the scar tissue may keep it closed so they may manipulate it to open when it gets closer to time though. They told me that they won't let me go past 41 weeks. But other than that I'm still pregnant and miserable

    Re: Induction

Hi all! I'm 34 weeks and 1 day. I go tomorrow for another sonogram to see how big the little girl is. The doctor said at my last sono the baby was measuring 2 days bigger than my due date and at my last appointment my belly was measuring big. She never told me the measurement though, argh! After my sono tomorrow I have an appointment with the doctor so I'll be able to find out all news then. I am SO hoping she says that my due date is earlier than Sept 14. I have had numerous people tell me it looks like I've dropped, I've been losing my mucus plug gradually for what seems like an eternity, and the pressure "there" is HORRIBLE! I have no clue what to expect when it comes to the baby dropping, since this is my first, but I've read that the pressure greatens when you do. I'm pretty sure I've been having Braxton Hicks contractions, but some of them are more uncomfortable than others. I don't know what to expect with a real contraction, but so far I don't think I've had one. If the doctor says I'll need to go earlier than Sept 14, I will be more than okay with that!!!

    Good luck to everyone!!!
