    Uugghh!!! Is this Normal?

Hi everyone. I am eight weeks along today. I am soo tired, and I feel queasy. I feel like I have the flu. My legs are weak and keep feeling like they want to give at any moment. My house has been neglected. All I want to do is sleep. I can hardly eat, and my energy levels are already so low. I don't see the OB until 3-14, so if anyone has any suggestions on how this is suppose to be, let me know. I am not a stranger to pregnancy, but now I am 38, am I too old to be doing this? A little late now, but is it my age? Poor DH, and kids, I am like their walking zombie. If it weren't for my husband taking care of things, (he works the afternoon shift) before he goes to work, and for the organization I had in my home before pg, Health Department would come in and close me down=). Also, poor 3 1/2 year old has had the t.v. watching her for me, which I try not to be one of those parents, but it seems whatever gets us through the day is  help along the way. Some input would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Evelyn,

Sounds like you could be anemic! Have you had your iron level checked? Are you craving ice?

When I'm pregnant, my iron levels are low, since I'm used to being anemic, I'm used to feeling tired, I just push through it, we have 5 kids, so I have no other choice, If you are craving ice, not just craving it, but it seems like beyond cravings, you are probably anemic, they can give you more iron pills, or you can get a b12 shot...

Age could also have a little to do with it, I'm 36. almost 37, and I defintlely, notice a difference with my last one, I was 34...

    Are you on prenate vitamins?

You've been pg before, so you know the drill. Check with Dr. let him or her know..

    Hi Dana Lu,

Thanks for getting back to me. I had my WIC check up last week, my iron levels were good. Not anemic at this time. As with you I guess all I can do is push through this phase too. I just can't seem to perk up at all during the day, and then about 8:00 ish at night I start to feel better. I am on prenatal vitamins, have been for four weeks, thank goodness. I think my age, and probably early pg is all I can relate this to. Hope it gets better in the second trimester. Just one-two weeks ago, I would have guessed I wasn't even pg, boy did it come on fast. Will just accept as a symptom.

    Thanks,

    Evelyn

I'm going to go with its the joy's of pregnancy. I'm right there with ya! I've been so tired. Thankfully my two are around the same age and love playing together and they don't mind if mommy lay's on the sofa while they run around and scream as long and i feed them lol. Hopefully around the 2nd tri we'll both feel better!

??? Was that posted in the wrong spot? Anyway, I felt this way too at around 8 weeks and I'm 30. Still not a spring chicken I know. I was only 20 & 23 with my first two and I felt the same way, it's that hormone stuper. You just don't have the energy to care about anything but sleeping. I'm still tired but nothing like that anymore, so I'm sure you'll be feeling better in about a month.
