    Okay, let's hear it!

What are your favorite baby names for boys and girls?
    Where did you hear it?
    What does it mean?
What's the origin of the name?

    Megan

I love Brandon for a boy and Sydney for a girl. My husband hates them both, though.

Jack is my all time favorite boy name, and also the name of my favorite uncle.  I always thought I would name a son Jack, but it is too popular now, so I won't use it.

I am in love with the name Claire for a girl........but DH hates it!  Needless to say, we are holding off on #2.

We both also like Keira, but disagree on the spelling (he likes Kira).  It was our name if ds was a dd.  We wouldn't use it now because it's been used in the family since then.

We like the name Colin for a boy, but wouldn't use it now because it's too popular and we know a few people who have used it.

Don't laugh. If I have another boy we are naming it Davik Kane. We got the name Davik off of the video game we stay up all night playing on my days off: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic.

If I get lucky enough to have a little girl though (I hope, I hope, I hope) it will be named Emily Rose, not after the movie The Exorcism of Emily Rose, but after my mom and little sister.

Baby names that my hubby and I have agreed on Boy: Alexander Brayden Bishop Girl: Alexandria Ripley Avacollette We agree on Alex over three years ago when we were still dating. Ripley and Bishop both came from the Aliens movies. Brayden and Avacollette are just two I like. We agreed we would each pick a middle name since we chose to agree to disagree. With two middle names, we both win. I'm not into what names mean or the origin.....sorry.

I'm a traditionalist.  My boys are Alexander Michael and Evan Paul.

Our girl names were Klara Ann and Lillian Mae.   Alas, won't get to use them!

our girl name is Hallie Grace (we might spell it Halle, haven't decided yet) and our boy name is Carter, but we gave his middle name to Cole so he doesn't have a middle name yet.

We're boring, we picked our kids names a long time ago!

My sons name is Carter and we gave him a middle name Alexander.  We loved Alexander but it was too popular so gave him the middle name and he can choose to use it some day should he want.  Sooooo, I love the name Carter.  My other son's name is Sebastian Cole.  I love the name Cole too!  If we had a girl, we were going to name her Amelia.

    MY favourite names are:

boy - Adam. This is Marks middle name, it means Son of the Red Earth in hebrew, also the first man created by God. I'd like to give Marks grandfathers name Peter and my grandfathers name Kenneth as middle names, since both have passed away. My honey doesnt think a person needs 4 names, but he wants his nonos name as a middle name and I want my poppas as well. We'll see, I'm hoping for the compromise.

girl - Isabella (Italian variation of Isabel). I think I heard it on Days of our Lives, Marlenas daughter Belle, it means devoted to God. But I just love how it rolls off my tongue. I want to use a family name from each side for the middle names. And again he wants only one middle name so we will have to compromise with two names Smile

My daughter is Ava Lynn.  At the time I knew Ava was very popular but holy cow is it ever! I still LOVE the name but have met many little Avas.  We didn't know if we were having a boy or girl so in the hospital pulled out our list of about 10 girl names and 10 boy names, it took us overnight to actually decide.  I'm sure it's going to be the same this time around!

We really haven't even started the discussion this time around yet but off the top of my head some favorites are:

    GIRLS:  Laila, Natalie

     middle name: Rae

BOYS:  Owen, Dylan, Ethan (all pretty popular I believe)

middle name: probably John, Richard or Jacob (family names)

I guess I need to pull out my name books and start the lists all over again. This is such a hard decision.  I love hearing other people's favorite names...keep em' coming!

My 4 year old is named Abigale Grace.  Her dad picked Abigale which means "father's joy" and I chose the virtue name Grace.  She loves her name and for short we just call her Abby.

I am now 25 weeks with another girl and have lots of ideas on her name.  This is a problem because first of all, dad doesn't really like anything that I like and second, I can't name her 5 different names.

My top picks would have to be:  Halia Hawaiian means "rememberance of a loved one".

This one stands out because my 2nd daughter was born premature and passed away.  Kind of a tribute to her.

Cadence musical term in reference to the rise of the beat.

    Just sounds girly to me.

And on the small chance of the U/S tech being way off, I think probably something traditional and strong for a boy.  Seeing as how I have no clue what that would be right now, I am praying for a girl.

We found girl names to be harder to come up with.

I do like Cadance - never heard that one before!

AARRGGHH!!!  We are exactly the opposite!  All of the boys names I come up with, da-da keeps rejecting.  I believe I've figured out why:  He secretly wants a son to be named after him.  A junior if you will.  Not knocking that or anything, to each his own.  I would just rather only have one "WHAT?" yelled back at me when I call his name.

So I guess it's a small miracle (at least for this pregnancy) that we are having a girl.  Maybe I should name her after me....Wink

Our daughter's name is Mia Simone.

If we get pregnant, we decided a loooonnnng time ago that the boy's name would be Miles (my maiden name).

We can't agree on a girl name (and I'm sure it'll get harder once we're actually prego!). He likes Ryan and I like Ivy.

Sometimes I think though, 'If we have a boy and name it Miles, and we already have Mia, should we think of another girl name that starts with an M?' Then I get overwhelmed and think 'OMG! What if we have twins and I need a boy and girl M name? Or 2 boy Ms or vice versa?' I tend to freak out!
