    question about conceiving

    Hi Everyone,

I have a couple questions regarding conception and 'knowing' that you're pregnant...

The first day of my last period was August 16th. My husband and I have been talking about trying to conceive for a while. I was formerly on Yaz birth control pills for six months. I was supposed to start my seventh's month pack on Monday August 18th. I took the first pill in the pack on Monday like I was supposed to. On Tuesday my husband and I deciding we definitely wanted to try to conceive. So I stopped taking the pills after only that one pill on Monday.

My question is, will taking the first pill in the pack but none after mess my cycle up? Will it reduce our chances of getting pregnant this month. I'm in my early 20's and am in excellent health, as is he. We had sex last night (Tues) and plan to continue trying every other night for the rest of the month.

Another quesiton is, will my body release an egg as soon as it realizes that I've stopped taking any pills? Or will it still release an egg about 16 days after the first day of my last period(as usual)?

My last question is...Does anyone have any experiences with feeling they are pregnant only the next day after sex? I don't mean in a breast tenderness or nausea sort of way, but more in an intuitive way? I know that you can't really test until you've missed a period or so, but I just mean in a women's intuition way of knowing. I'm very in tune with my body and have sensed something. I'm not sure if it's just because I stopped taking my pills or if it's something else.

Please share any and all advice, experiences, stories, etc!

    Thank you!

    xoxo

    Re: question about conceiving

Well it's been a really long time since I was on the pill. I could never take it because it made me really sick.  However I do remember that missing pills could result in getting pregnant... Then on the other end of the spectrum are women who have been on the pill for years, and typically have to allow a few months for it to get out of their system completely before ttc successfully. So depending on your body, and how early it's able to regulate itself will depend on when you ovulate. The best thing you can do is get some ovulation tests... You can buy them in the store, or order them online. I highly recommend them.

As for the intuition, there is nothing saying it isn't possible. However in my experience there were months when I was just certain that it had happened just to find out it hadn't.  The month I got my BFP I had no hope at all that it had happened that month.

Also charting can really help on your ttc journey.  It can help prove ovulation occured.  I hope I helped atleast a little bit, and Good luck to you and your DH.

I agree with the pp. It all really depends on your body. I don't think taking the first pill will make any difference, but it just depends on when you body decides to O.

The first time we got pregnant I knew it was going to happen right after we did the deed. lol  But the other two times I was surprised it happened. I know the mind can make you pretty sure of something if you want it bad enough. Good luck!
