I'm happy your placenta shifted out of the way enough - hopefully mine will do the same! They found out at my 18 week ultrasound that my placenta was low-lying and my 24 week ultrasound showed that it didn't shift much at all yet. I'm a little over 27 weeks today (yay third trimester!), and I'll have another ultrasound sometime in the next few weeks (I'll schedule it next time I see my OB). I really don't want a c-section (i've never had surgery in my life!), but if that's what it takes to have a happy healthy baby then I guess I'll have to get over it, now won't I?
At least we'll get another peek at the gender with the next ultrasound! The 18 week ultrasound the little one had their legs criss-crossed the entire time, the 24 week ultrasound the tech said that he "thinks" its a girl, but he wasn't sure. *fingers crossed on a shifting placenta and being able to clearly see the boy or girl parts!*
I've only gained ten pounds too, but I'm three weeks behind you. It's different for everyone, but my doctor didn't seem too concerned. For most pregnancies, it's normal to gain a pound or so a week in the last trimester, so I wouldn't stress out over it.
Good luck on getting the baby to turn!
