    Blood pressure

Isn’t it too early for me to be having blood pressure problems?  I woke up Saturday morning completely swollen. My eyes, hands (had to use hand soap to get my rings off), ankles, face.  So my mother-in-law told me to check my blood pressure.  I went to H.E.B. which is a local grocery store and checked with the machine they had there and it was 130/82 and it said pre-hypertension, but I would think that only being almost 24 weeks that it is early for this.  Has anyone had this problem before this early?  I had it with both my other boys but not until the last month to month in a half.

If you have sudden swelling like that you should contact your Dr. right away. Since you had high blood pressure with your first two you could very well be having problems again. My sister had early signs of preeclampsia when she was only thirty weeks and by thirty four weeks she had preeclampsia.

I agree with Beth. Your Dr might also want to get a baseline 24 hr urine on you just incase. Just keep drinking lots of water even though you are swollen!

    Re: Blood pressure

I am 24 weeks, and I have been on blood pressure medicine since I was 15 weeks. So, you're not alone. But it's definitely not something you wanna mess around with! I hope you've contacted you're doctor about it!
