The "morning sickness" has started on schedule! The nausea isn't that bad (it comes and goes and usually doesn't last for long), but my appetite has gone insane! I get really hungry and NOTHING appeals to me. It seems like I spend half my time trying to figure out what specific thing is going to taste good and make me feel better for a little while (and that specific thing varies from meal to meal). Also I've been having tummyaches to go along with it, or a "gnawing uneasiness" in my tummy, as the Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy puts it. Boobs still haven't grown much past prementstrual size yet (please grow!) and still having the slight uterine cramping. Anyone else get the same kind of morning sickness as me? The common remedies don't really work because it's not about the nausea, and eating small amounts of bland foods all day long can't really be done when one second a pretzel seems good and the next it seems repulsive. I've just been sending my husband out a a lot, and apologizing all the way. I'm lucky this is my first pregnancy and he's so nice about it. The things I have wanted so far (it's not a craving, it's just the only thing that appeals to me when I'm hungry at that moment): McDonald's french fries. Wendy's baked potato with sour cream and butter. Vegetable soup or pot pie, but I didn't have that so I made risotto and the cooking onions smell made me feel better that time. Oreos with milk, more the milk than the oreos but I don't like milk by itself so in between oreos I'd take a few sips.
It's so weird! Prepregnancy I'd always have cravings for something sweet or salty, now so many things I normally like are just so blah. If I eat something that doesn't appeal to me at that moment I usually feel worse or at least not better, and as I'm eating it it's almost like it has no taste, even though I can taste it fine. I'm looking forward to having my regular appetite back, because prepregnancy the way to my heart was through my stomach.
