    Hey everyone, I'm new

I actually didn't plan on having any other kids after my son was born almost 5 years ago. But, I guess someone else had different plans for me cause here I am again :) And I'm 36! Too old' eh? Just found out a couple days ago so I'm still in shock and I can't sleep which is making me crazy so I'm crying all the time. I'm so tired but my mind just won't stop. I guess I need to get into the doctor this week!

When is it again when the dr does the first u/s?

Congrats on your surprising news.  I am sure once the shock wears down, you will feel better.  My Dr saw me at 6 weeks.  I know, from what I have read on this board, many other Drs like to wait unti l7-10 weeks.

Best of luck and welcome again!

Congrats! Ya know what they say, A surprise is something you didn't know you wanted til you got it. Wink I also have a surprise on the way. I'm delaying calling my dr for another 2 weeks the last 2 times I went it was too early to see anything and all I did was worry. One time I went back 10 days later and I saw the little flutter, the last time I saw nothing :( I figure by waiting as soon as I go I'll know either way, no 10 days of sleepless nights!

    Good Luck!

I in the same age boat as you.  36 and counting!  I did however plan on having another.  Unfortunately, we had a diagnosis of male infertility and had to undergo IVF to have our beautiful son 2 1/2 years ago!  This one was a complete surprise because it happened all on it's own.  My doctor usually sees her patients for the first time at 8 weeks.  And the first u/s is usually between 8-10 weeks.  IF you go too early, then they won't see anything.  I'm sure once the shock settles down, you will be able to sleep again.  Good luck for a happy and healthy pregnancy (and some good sleep!)

Wow Congrats on the surprising news!!!! Every doctor is different on when they do an ultrasound. I know mine was when I hit 8 weeks which was just a dating ultrasound. You could get into the doctor and see when they will do one. How far along are you now?

Hi there! I too, am 36, and was completely shocked that i was preggo, becuz i thought i could not get pregnant.  When i started feeling sick (at 6 weeks), I actually thought i was having stomach problems, LOL.  When i went to my primary and asked what symptoms i had, she said, can you be pregnant? And I replied with a BIG NO! LOL.  She told me that before they did any treatments, they had to do a pregnancy test, OMG! Sure nuff, I was pregnant!

First u/s was at 7 weeks and there it was, very clear.  I can't sleep either sometimes, I am very scared, nervous, very emotional, OMG, I'm sure all of you can relate!  Very nausaus too, not throwing up, but very nausaus and ALL DAY!  I'm hoping this will pass very soon.
