I am new at this..but am concerned

I am 14 weeks and 5 days pregnant and I can not sleep! I was wondering if anyone else has gone through this??? I  am tired all day but when it comes time to sleep I lay down close my eyes and can not fall a sleep. I am not stressed  out and have nothing to worry about but for some reason I go two to three days a week with no sleep. I am so worried because my doctor suggested Tylenol PM, they do not work my mind races and although my eyes are closed and my body is resting I can recall every hour of the night. This has been going on for at least two months now and I know it can not be healthy for the baby :( . I work 4pm to 12am at night and life has been such a struggle being awake all night all day and working 4pm- 12m, you think anyone would be able to sleep after going that long...... I just feel a little crazy and was wondering if this has happened to anyone else I have tried everything and I feel like I am loosing my mind! please help if you can, I also have sever morning sickness and nausea I throw up every morning and have to force my self to eat all day so far this has been torture! however I know it will all be worth it in the end :) will the sickness end soon? and will I ever sleep :(

Hi.  I don't know about the sleep issue, but I had bad morning sickness with my son.  I got it before I took the pregnancy test and I waited and waited for the magic 12 weeks when the books all say that it should end, but IT DIDN'T END!  i W

Oops, sorry, my message window suddenly closed.  Anyway, mine lasted for 5.5 months.  After that I wasn't sick but still couldn't eat hardly any fruits and veggies.  As soon as I came home from the hospital after delivery, I could eat all of the fruits and veggies.  I know it is miserable.  I honestly think the dread of morning sickness was part of the reason I waited so long to get pregnant again.  (My son is 3.9 years old.)  It is still early in this pregnancy, but I am no where near as sick as with him.  Hope that helps.

Hi, yes I have bouts with insomnia. My doctor prescribed me Ambien. It is a category b for pregnancy, which means it is safe. It is absorbed by Mom's liver long before the placenta would get any of it. It works for me. Some nights I am up all night too. I too can also recall every hour of the night. But like I said, Ambien works for me. If you would like, ask your doc any questions about it, he should reassure you. Also, I have a 3 1/2 year old, very healthy, and I had to take Ambien with her too. Tylenol PM did nothing for me other than cause a hangover. Could this be why you are still having morning sickness? It's actually a hangover from Tylenol PM? Also, they say a morning sickness pg is a healthy pg. Hope I helped. Let me know.  Good luck.

I have always suffered from insomnia esp during the week b/c of the stress of my job, but I found that it got worse when I became pregnant.  Luckily, it has started getting better the past couple of weeks.  I have mostly had migraines throughout my pregnancy.  I only spent about 2-3 weeks with nausea and no vomiting.  The was at about 6-9 weeks.  If you are not eating small meals every 2-3 hours, I strongly recommend it.  Also, talk to you Dr, s/he can probably prescribe you something.  My symptoms have started to get much better so, for what it is worth, there is hope.

Good luck and feel better soon!

Omg i still can't sleep and am almost in my 3rd trimaster!! For me tylenol pm didn't work, I think at times it made it worse. Try taking a warm bath with  johnson & johnson bedtime wash or having a back and foot rub before bedtime.

Oh yeah! I was huge and uncomfortable with my first and thank God I have a wonderful husband. He would rub my feet with lotion every night. It was the only thing that helped me to sleep. God bless him!
