    Feeding Question

How often do your babies wake up to eat? DD will be 6 weeks this Tuesday and she wakes up every 1 1/2 - 2 hours on the dot to eat *she's formula fed). She consumes 3-4 ounces every feeding (DH and I have tried to increase this to 5 ounces hoping it'd keep her full longer, but she'll only eat a maximum of 4 ounces). I know that all babies are different, but I thought she'd at least start sleeping an hour or 2 longer by 6 weeks (3-4 hours at a strech). I'm just so tired ladies. I need some desperate relief in the form of SLEEP...... Can I schedule her feedings every 3-4 hours instead of feeding her every 1 1/2 - 2 hours, or would this be cruel if she's actually hungry at this time? It's worse at night. At night by the times she's finished with her bottle she's up in 1 - 1/2 hours to do it all over again.

    Re: Feeding Question

For the first three months at least, I don't believe in trying to "train" them.  If she's hungry, she's hungry.  Some babies are just like that.

Jack is eating about that often too, but since I'm nursing I can doze through his feedings. I feel your pain though :) Since she's bottle fed, can you and DH take turns so you get a couple of hours of sleep?
