  • Product Review: Doctor On Call Services

Reviewed by: Angela, mother of 8-month-old Drew

Doctor On Call is a 24-hours-a-day healthline where physicians provide health information over the phone. This is a great service to use for after hours when the doctors' offices are closed and you need medical advice. They give great advice; they really talk you through everything and explain what’s going on. It’s not only for after hours, you can call them anytime. It’s also a great place to call if you need more information on certain medication and how to use it. Instead of going straight to the ER and spending a lot of money because something is wrong with your child, family member, or even yourself, you can just call Doctors On Call -- they will let you know if the problem is life threatening or not. This is one of the main reasons they were established in the first place. Doctor On Call was developed 11 years ago by Dr. Brent Blue, a dual board certified physician. He wanted everyone to have access to a doctor and their vast medical knowledge, anytime they needed it. He knew that families around America were spending billions of dollars a year in unnecessary doctor and ER expenses on conditions that only require minor attention.

    Overall Rating: A+

The reason that I rate this service so high is that there is NO answering service, and no waiting. There is always a board certified physician available to assist you and provide very important information for you.

    Final Thought:

I think this is an absolutely wonderful service. They were fast and so nice and helped me understand what was going and on and what I needed to do when my child was sick. They made me feel more at ease, so I didn’t feel like I needed to rush my child to the emergency room. They told me what medication I should give my child and explained what each medication did. It was great!
