When I was asked to review the Wupzey! babyfood catcher, I was ready! I had spent way too many times at restaurants on the floor cleaning up after my children. You know the drill! Either leave a hefty tip to accommodate the time it takes to vacuum up after my children, or get down on my hands and knees and do it myself. There has to be a better way.
The Wupzey concept is that it will catch all food, drink, utensils and anything else dropped down the front of the highchair by the child. I thought the concept was ideal. Fold it all up into a little package, take it home and drop the crumbs in the trash. Or throw it in the wash.
The package says it attaches to a highchair in minutes, so we took it along with us to church for a spaghetti dinner. What better time to test cleanliness than pasta! I took it out of the package while my husband patiently held our son.
Alas….. you have to semi-permanently attach it to the chair by putting the enclosed adhesive fasteners onto the highchair. This idea is great at home, but I don’t need it there! At home, I have the Hoover Brigade and anything dropped to the floor is immediately consumed. I don’t need this product at home – I need it at restaurants, at Grandma’s, at church…
When I posted a question about this product on the Epregnancy forum, I received an email from the creator’s husband. He was willing to send me more adhesives. Truly, I do appreciate this. It’s service you don’t get just anywhere. But that won’t work for me in this situation.
I think the concept is ideal. But it is not flexible enough for the use I have for it. It is only $19.95, which is less than a Swiffer! But if you have dogs like I do, it might not be worth the investment.
