A Grand Salute to Grandma 250 While the words “just wait till you’re a mother” made you cringe when you were a teenager, now that you have a baby of your own, you finally get it. It’s time to acknowledge that Mother does know best after all. No, it’s not just because the tables have turned and you must now do diaper duty with your daughter. But, as a grown woman with a family of your own, you sometimes find yourself thinking, “I want my mommy!”

So come clean, swallow your pride and tell your mother you are sorry for throwing the tantrum of the century when she dragged you to the beauty parlor to cut off your knot-filled hair for a Dorothy Hamill or little Dutch boy bob. Beg her forgiveness for being a teen terror and admit that maybe getting an ankle tattoo with the name of your prom date on it wasn’t the greatest idea in the world. Go ahead and ‘fess up to that keg party you threw while she was out of town that left a mysterious stain on the carpet that you blamed on the Shih Tzu. It’s about time you tell your mom how much you love her and need her…especially now as a new mother.

No one loves your baby like Grandma does. And there’s no one more willing to spend their weekends babysitting so you can actually go out and have an adult dinner for a change. So whether you’re a Granny, Nana, Bubbe or YaYa, just know that we love you. And by the way…if you’re available, we need you this Saturday night!
